2 Months
The girls had their 2-month checkup today. Cora weighs 9lbs. 7oz. and is 22.25in, and Emma's 9lbs. 4oz. and 21.25in. We were so sure that Emma would weigh more! That inch really makes a difference. Emma looks and feels so much heavier. They had to get a couple shots too, and we're paying for it tonight. They both slept for about 3.5 hours after they calmed down, but have been extremely cranky while awake since.

8 Weeks (and a couple days)
I keep meaning to write an update on the babies, but I've been horrible about actually doing it. My babies will be 2 months old on Sunday! Time is flying by! Before we know it, this first year will be over.
The girls have their 2-month checkup on Monday. We're so curious to know how much they've grown. Emma definitely outweighs Cora now! About 3 or 4 weeks ago, breastfeeding really clicked with Cora and Emma decided she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Emma screams bloody murder every time I try to nurse her, but she's finally been nursing a little when she first wakes up the last day or two. She'll only stay on for a few minutes, but it's definitely progress from where we were even a few days ago. Cora is almost exclusively breastfeed now. She only gets a couple bottles a day, and that's typically if she wakes up right after I've pumped or I just need a break. Emma mostly gets formula since I'm not pumping enough milk to stop supplementing. Both girls are still eating every 2-3 hours.
Cora will most likely be put on medication for acid reflux. She spits up like crazy! Yesterday, she went through 6 outfits and I changed my shirt 3 times! She has also started crying right after she spits up. She spits up after almost every feeding. We've been trying to keep her upright after she eats, but it's not working. Emma has also started spitting up the last few days, but it's nowhere near as bad as Cora. Cora is definitely gaining weight, but Emma has gotten quite a bit heavier than her.
Both girls are starting to lose their scrawniness and are filling out. Emma is starting to get Michelin Man legs! Her face has also gotten so adorably chubby. Cora is now the one with catching up to do. They've outgrown both Newborn diapers and clothes.
I'm amazed at how well they sleep already. I was still pacing the bathroom throughout the night with Abby at this age. There were many nights I'd wake up Damon at 4 or 5 am in tears because I hadn't slept at all yet and was beyond exhausted. Cora has been sleeping through the night for a month! She typically sleeps 6-8 hours at night. Emma is finally sleeping longer. She'll sleep for 4-5 hours before waking up. When she does wake up, she gets changed, eats, and goes right back to sleep. Most nights. The second stretch doesn't last as long; she'll wake up after 2-3 hours then, but it's usually 6 or 7am by then anyway. It's so nice only having to deal with one baby in the middle of the night!
The best part of this age is the smiles! Both girls started smiling a couple weeks ago, but it's only been the last few days that Cora has started smiling with some regularity. It's still pretty rare to get a smile out of Emma. Cora will smile for a good minute or two before she's done for a while. She's starting to do this several times a day. One of these days, I'll actually have my camera nearby when she smiles!
